From Mr. McClendon;

SIDNI SMITH, a student in the eighth grade at Phillips Academy has been selected by the state of Alabama's School Bus Transportation Department as state winner in the state's 6-8th grade category of The National School Bus Transportation Department's poster contest titled "Cross in View... It's the Right Thing to Do".

Sidni's poster design was selected by the governor and committee to represent our state and compete against 50 other entries from middle school students representing each of the 50 states!

If Sidni is selected the winner of the national division contest in Albany, New York, she will receive national publication of her artwork as well as a $1000 savings bond to apply to her college education.

This is a great honor and an example of how art can represent the visual talents of students, awarding them with money and honoring them by publishing their work in national publications and advertisements.

WAY TO GO SIDNI!!!
